Own a Fish Pond Buckets Guide
Buckets are loot boxes that contain randomized fish eggs and occasionally mature specimens. They are the primary vehicle for obtaining exclusive species unavailable in the Fish Shop. Most buckets cost Robux, but codes distribute them free on a regular schedule.
How Buckets Work
After obtaining a bucket (from codes, Fisherman, or shop), carry it to your pond and tap repeatedly to open. Each tap progresses the opening animation. The fish inside is determined by the bucket type's drop table — you cannot preview contents before opening.
Bucket Types
OG Bucket: standard promo reward from most codes. Japan Bucket: themed species from Japan update events. Backrooms Bucket: spooky exclusives from BACKROOMSPARTY code. Deep Sea Bucket: ocean-line species. Axolotl Bucket: popular mid-game bucket. Premium/Secret/Whale Buckets: highest-tier drop pools.
Free Bucket Sources
Redeem active codes (see our codes page). Visit the Fisherman during his 6-hour shop window. Participate in seasonal events and scavenger hunts. Join the Block Stud Studios group for group reward buckets.
Opening Best Practices
Save buckets until mutation events. Open during Rain-Coral overlap for Shiny exclusives. Do not open common OG buckets during dry periods with no events active.
